Vivo is now ready to launch a new device from the Vivo X series later this year with a Snapdragon 820 processor. This is not your average smartphone, where you can expect three cameras and IP68 water resistance, as the Vivo X Flip is just a phone. However, this one might be important for someone waiting to see what features come along when you’re going up against the likes of Samsung and Apple in China.
The renowned tipper Digital Chat Station (a Chinese microblogging website) provided this foldable smartphone information on Weibo. The leaker claimed in the web article that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is developing a new “Flip” model. For those who are unaware, the company already sells a foldable smartphone, the X Fold.
The device can compete with the Galaxy Z Flip, Huawei P Pocket series, and Moto Razr devices. The secondary display on the outside of the screen will always display the date and time. Plus, it will have a fingerprint sensor. It will be a horizontally foldable phone.
The device’s edges on both sides are curved, while its top and bottom are flat. Its back panel is curved at the corners. The rumored device will come in three color options: black, blue, and red.
There is no information regarding whether there will be a pricing announcement surrounding this smartphone. Still, it looks like Vivo got some patents in China, where its name was listed as having filed a patent application for a foldable phone. That is all that is known about the upcoming device at the moment.
