Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: Audiophiles Gonna Love It

Ask everyone on the street what the best wireless earphones are, and they will give you the wrong reply nine times out of ten. The AirPods Pro were so dominant in 2020 that we missed what a beauty Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 was, but you should be careful.

Sennheiser makes valiant efforts to take the crown of “the best true wireless earphones” with top-quality audio and a handful of useful creature comforts.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is an imposing and unsurprising pair of wireless pumps. After all, this is the successor to Sennheiser’s original True Wireless Momentum, one of the best wireless earbuds ever.

It shouldn’t be remotely shocking if the incredible, noise-related Momentum True Wireless 2 is so well produced with the great-talking Sennheiser CX 400BT that shows what you could do, even on a less budget.

What is it Like?

When you reserve to spend a little time with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 to get away with so much cash for a pair of earbuds, you should be sure that those buds are magnificently made and that they are luxurious at this rate.

With shiny metallic touch-sensitive housings and a round form, the new wireless ear-boxes look pretty similar to those used in originals. The True Wireless 2 Sennheiser Momentum looks sleek, and its silver finish looks slick and stylish without too showy.

Even in these buds, it looks good, with golden pins and LEDs that show their pairing status.

Sennheiser says the True Wireless 2 Momentum is 2mm smaller than the original, and you should be able to find a secure fit with three additional earpieces in the box.

But if your hearing is on the smaller side, the circular housing may feel somewhat awkward; our ears felt quite wretched after a more extended hearing.

We don’t think that this is a problem for every user, but it’s worth considering that if you have little ears, these buds may be too big to use easily.

If you are comfortable, you should use the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 as IPX4-specific ovens as running ovens since they can withstand a little sweat or a few drops of rain.

The tactile boxes allow you to reply or reject telephone calls, adjust your playback and call the Voice Assistant for your device. We found the controls working, and if you wish, via the Sennheiser Smart Control app, you could assign several functions to the authorities.

There’s also an innovative automotive break feature to stop your music when you take the buds off your ears, useful when you’re in a hurry.

These controls can also enable you to switch on and off noise cancellations with a transparency mode, making it possible for environmentally friendly sounds to pass over buds – useful when using these earbuds for learning your environment.

Connectivity and Battery Life

These buds have a much longer battery life than their predecessors, with 7 hours of buds and 21 hours of charging time. That’s four hours in the earbuds and eight hours in the charging case, which is aligned with today’s best true wireless earbuds.

Bluetooth 5.1 has been the best way of pairing them with our smartphone. You can stream Hi-Resolution Audio over Bluetooth with no problems, thanks to the support of the latest wireless streaming standardization and support the aptX codec of Qualcomm.

Audio Quality

The Momentum True Wireless 2 packs dynamic drivers like their predecessors, which Sennheiser says will produce “outstanding stereo sound, with deep bass, natural mids, and clear, detailed treble.”

The Momentum True Wireless 2 was a masterly navigated synthetic bass with clear, smooth vocals and textured, punchy sounds without being overly harsh, listening to SBTRKT’s Wildfire ft Little Dragon.

We were surprised at the intestine of the lowest frequencies, with the intensity of thumps in the body that we would not usually expect of real wireless earbuds, as we move to Kelela’s Rewind.

That’s not to mention that middle and triple frequencies have been neglected, as hi-hats and lush RnB vocals have been flourishing over the whole path.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is a valuable competitor for the Sony WF-1000XM3 with a broad stage in sound and a lot of crisp detail – though it does not seem that it is as close as the last one.

The sound cancellation is also not very much the same as the buds of Sony. We found that a good deal of the noise could go through while blocking environmental noise – however, turn your music on, and the world will melt.

Final Prognosis

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is one of today’s best TWS options. They sound great, offer decent battery mileage, are reliable and comfortable to wear for long periods.

Their primary contest is the Sony WF-1000XM3, whose design is different and the noise cancellation slightly better. True Wireless 2 is relatively more comfortable to wear for long periods.

For all that, Momentum True Wireless 2 feels quite expensive yet. There are not many reasons for preference for these than Sony WF-1000XM3 or Apple AirPods Pro, except you are a hardcore audiophile.

Pros

  • Convenient fitness.
  • Great quality of sound.
