Motorola is one of the biggest names, and when it comes to smartphones and other mobile devices, Motorola is proud of its standing. The company has been producing handsets for different carrier networks and other products for decades, so it’s not surprising that Motorola is releasing a new device with e-SIM 5G support this year.
Motorola is preparing to launch a new smartphone with an e-SIM and wireless charging support, as well as an included accessory, that has just been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC is the telecommunications regulatory agency.
Last week, the upcoming Edge 40 Pro with the model number XT2301-4 was spotted on the TDRA certification website. The Moto Edge 40 Pro was recently spotted on the FCC’s certification page. The upcoming Moto Edge 40 Pro’s battery and charging specifications are disclosed in the FCC certification filing. According to the listing, the smartphone will have a battery with the model number PF46.
The Moto E40 will come with a 5G SIM card and wireless charging capabilities. It’s also promising up to two days of battery life thanks to some new hardware and software components. Motorola is staging this event for just about any carrier in hopes of taking advantage of increased competition in the market for low-cost 5G smartphone options heading into next year.
The phone will support a 125W fast charging adapter, likely a small adapter, and will use the Qi wireless charging standard. It’ll also support eSIM 5G connectivity, making it a 5G device for Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Along with this, it will feature support for wireless charging.
Reportedly, the device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Gen 2 processor with up to 12GB of RAM. There is no current information about the camera, but sources say it is likely to feature a 48MP snapper.
A recently discovered curved OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a centered punch-hole notch was found on the Chinese version of the device’s TENAA certification. The performance will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB of RAM.
