Mi Watch Lite gets BIS Certification; India launch imminent

As per a confidential informant, Mi Watch Lite has obtained the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, indicating it will be launched soon in India. Last month, the device made its international debut and tends to be on its way to India soon.

It looks a lot like the Redmi Watch model and is also classified as ‘Redmi’ on BIS, indicating it could come to India as another Redmi smartwatch. The new smartwatch from Xiaomi comes with 11 training modes and has up to nine days of battery life.

Mi Watch Lite with product code REDMIWT02, as suggested by informant Mukul Sharma, can be seen in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. Although the certification does not disclose any other facts, it indicates that Xiaomi may soon launch the wearable device in India.

However, last month it made a debut worldwide and therefore will definitely be available with variants for Pink, Ivory, Olive, Navy Blue, and Black straps.

The Mi Watch Lite is a rebranded version of the Redmi Watch that was unveiled in China for CNY 2999 in November (approximately Rs. 3,400). We can expect a similar price for the Mi Watch Lite in India as well.

11 Sports Mode’s

It provides 11 types of sport modes, namely cricket, swimming, indoor cycling, walking, and much more.

Battery Performance

Xiaomi’s smartwatch has a 230mAh battery that takes about two hours to fully charge. In a common usage situation, it has a battery life of up to 9 days and up to 10 hours in constant GPS sports mode.

Notifications for calls and messages

It has calls and messaging alerts, music controls, and weather support. By installing the application, it can link to  Android as well as iOS.

Nevertheless, the manufacturer of the smartwatch has 5ATM resistance, which enables it to operate in up to 50 meters of water. It has a tracking of the heart rate, sleep tracking, and also provides guided deep breathing exercises.
