The major iOS updates are always exciting, but Apple focuses more on stability and efficiency this year than flashy features. To make room for the new features and changes in iOS 17, Apple has removed some old, unused apps that take up space on your iPhone. The update will be released in September or October 2023, after the release of the iPhone 15 series. A reputable source has revealed new details on Apple iOS 17, with Cupertino’s future priorities appearing to be “stability and efficiency” for the iPhone operating system.
iOS 17 features
The update will feature a significant redesign and look like iOS for iPad. This means that the icons will be bigger and easier to tap. The Control Center will also receive an updated design featuring larger toggles, a new layout, and more customisation options. Apple’s emphasis on stability and reliability makes sense, given how glitchy iOS 16 has been. With iOS 16, Apple made several significant visual changes, with the lock screen being the most notable. According to the tipper, the next version of iOS will strongly emphasise reliability and stability.
Apple could also add some features from macOS to the iPhone with iOS 17. macOS has slideshows in its file browser, which makes it easy to look through your photos and videos, so it might make sense for Apple to bring this feature over too. They could also bring over tabs in Safari, which is probably something many people have been crying out for since they were removed.
Changes in iOS 17
For the iPhone 14 series, there will be a massive change in the dynamic island. This will be similar to iOS 16 but will have many more features. LeaksApplePro mentions more significant changes that will be included in iOS 17, such as a better navigation mechanism for the Music app. There will be additions to the wallpaper and modifications to the volume controls. Additionally, a new Apple AR/VR headset support app is expected to be included in iOS 17, further tying the Apple software ecosystem.
Apple’s iOS 17 will also be a lot better than iOS 16. There is a rumour that the update will come with features like Control Center updates, Siri tweaks, and iPad-exclusive features. Cupertino could add app tab support based on the iPad Pro’s model and split-screen apps for side-by-side multitasking. The video player will receive an update, too, with Apple introducing Picture-in-Picture mode for videos. The built-in camera app may also get a new feature and some tweaks to iCloud file storage management in general.
As for the iPhone 15 series will not change much from the current version of iOS; instead, Apple will focus on stability and efficiency. The source is not sure about the release date of iOS 17 but thinks it could launch after the iPhone 15 series. Two forthcoming iPhone models may offer data transfer rates comparable to USB 3.2 technology, according to the iOS 17 code.
Apple has previously stated that it must comply with the EU regulation requiring gadgets to come standard with a USB Type-C connector. This does imply that future iPhone models will include a USB Type-C port.
Last but not least, it is claimed that the top-end iPhone 15 Pro Max/ iPhone 15 Ultra would come with superior cooling technology and more sophisticated picture processing software. According to rumours, the iPhone 15 series, the following generation of iPhones, will support Dynamic Island. All four iPhone 15 versions released later this year will feature Apple’s wide cutout in the top center.
More details are awaited. The iOS 17 might be a perfect update, though not as impressive as the previous updates had been in the past.
