Apple to launch new Airpods and Airpods Max at a lower price- Rumors claimed
The wireless earbuds are Apple’s fastest-selling product, and they may be on the way to getting better.
It’s been a little over a year since the first generation of AirPods was released, and we’ve been anticipating that Apple would release an upgraded version for quite some time now. Now it looks like the company is ready to do just that—in 2019. According to sources, Apple will be launching new tweaks to its AirPods (a lower price tag and “AirPods Max”) as well as its cheaper wired headphone line (AirPod 2).
While AirPods remain the world’s best-selling true wireless earphones, they are expensive and out of reach for many people. According to Ming Chi-Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, Apple aims to produce a more affordable standard AirPods, which might cost approximately $99. In addition, the company is developing the second generation of AirPods Max over-ear headphones.
The inexpensive AirPod headphones are also said to include noise-canceling features but will lack the ability for users to use Siri. Sources also claimed that the new AirPods 2 have microphones that can detect voices up to 10 meters away, making it easier for people to use them in crowded areas such as airplanes, buses, or subways.
They will be available in the first or second quarters of 2024 or early 2025, as the production process will take time. As for the evolution of the AirPods, Apple is supposedly working on a wireless charging case. With such technology, charging could be done wirelessly by just placing it on a compatible surface like a table or other upright surface.
The cheapest AirPods model on the market right now is the second-generation model, which costs $129, while the newer third-generation model costs $169 and comes with a Lightning charging case, while the one with a MagSafe chance costs $179. These will now be available for $99 if the report proves accurate.
These are indeed one of the best products Apple has ever made and were ahead of their time in terms of design and convenience. It seems like Apple plans to continue that trend, with reports that a new generation of AirPods will be released with a wireless charging case. There is more demand for Airpods than for AirPods Max, so the wireless charging case might also be added to the more affordable AirPods.
The price drop will help attract more customers to Apple’s AirPods. Although Apple seems to be doing well in sales for the AirPods, it certainly can’t hurt to make the product line more affordable and accessible to those who aren’t willing to pay a premium price.
Apple’s next iPhone will also probably arrive with a better battery, which hopefully has a wireless charging feature and many other features. We’re moving towards wireless charging thanks to companies like Apple. More details are awaited on this issue and other hardware improvements.
